NERIVO / LEGAL
Nerivo Privacy Policy
Welcome to Nerivo’s Privacy Statement.
The trust you put in our platform matters deeply to us, and we are open about how your personal data is handled. Nerivo is a free service that lets people find, watch, share and browse trending user-submitted video content at no charge. This statement covers every type of data we collect, the reasons we collect it, how we use and share your information, and all legal rights you hold over your personal data. We write in clear, plain language and steer clear of heavy legal jargon so that every provision is easy to understand.
Applicable Scope
This privacy statement reaches all websites, mobile apps and online services operated under the Nerivo brand (together, our “Services”). Our Services exist so that users can discover viral user-generated videos, view them, share them and explore all content for free. Every relevant service page carries a link to this statement. Where a single service keeps its own separate privacy policy, that specific policy prevails over the rules in this document.
Types of Data We Collect
To make discovering, streaming and sharing popular user-uploaded videos a better experience, we gather information about your identity, your activity on our Services, and data that comes from external third-party sources. The full picture is set out below.
Data You Provide Directly
Throughout your time on Nerivo, you might decide to hand over particular personal details to the platform, such as:
- Account Sign-Up: As required basic information, we collect your phone number, email address, gender, date of birth, and the custom preferences you set for trending video genres or content categories you want to explore.
- Profile Setup: You may optionally add extra details such as your video viewing habits, personal biography, hobbies, personal photos, and any video files you upload to the platform. To upload media, whether video clips or profile pictures, you may need to let Nerivo reach your device camera, built-in microphone (needed for videos with audio), or your device’s photo and video storage.
- Payment Information: If optional premium features launch in the future, or you buy things directly inside the platform (purchases handled through third-party marketplaces such as the iOS App Store and Google Play Store are excluded), we collect payment details such as debit or credit card information through our vetted payment service providers.
- Surveys and Promotions: Anything you submit while joining surveys, focus groups, contests or marketing drives tied to our video Services.
- Customer Support Interactions: What you tell our support staff when you reach out for help, for instance sorting out playback problems or login troubles.
- Third-Party Contact Information: If you provide someone else’s contact details to use friend invitation features, we process that data on your behalf. Chat records and everything you publish are kept too, so the platform Services keep running smoothly and safely.
Data Received From Third Parties
- Other Platform Users: Details shared by other members of the community, such as violation reports about your uploaded videos or your public comments.
- Social Media Platforms: Data we obtain when you log in to Nerivo with third-party social accounts including Facebook and Google, or when you import content from platforms such as Instagram — reposting Instagram short videos to Nerivo, for example.
- Business Partners: Information from partner networks that carry our advertising placements, plus third-party data pointing to suspected malicious accounts, provided sharing is allowed by local law.
Automatically Collected Data
- Usage Activity Logs: Records of the way you use our video Services: when you log in, what you use (playback, sharing, searching trending topics), how you react to other creators’ videos (likes and comments), and how you deal with ads.
- Device Information: Facts about the hardware and software of your device, covering your public IP address, unique device identifier, app settings, advertising tracking identifiers and cookie identifiers.
- Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies: These tools let us recognise your device and shape a browsing experience around you, such as holding onto your chosen video preferences. Right now the platform does not react to “Do Not Track” browser signals, since the industry has not agreed on one common standard.
- Third-Party Software Development Kits: Embedded components like Google AdMob, Firebase and outside attribution SDKs may gather device identifiers and activity data to power targeted advertising and performance analysis.
Data Collected With Your Express Consent
- Precise Location Data: We collect this data only after you give clear consent. Background location collection may continue if your device’s system settings allow it. Turning down location access may disable location-related features, such as browsing trending videos created by creators in your local area.
- Photo ID Verification: Facial measurement data (treated as biometric personal data in certain places) helps confirm who you are, chiefly to stop fake accounts from publishing misleading or deceptive videos.
- Additional Uploaded Media: Pictures or clips offered for your personal profile, or in aid of live streaming and content sharing functions.
How We Use Your Personal Information
All user data we collect is used to provide, improve and protect our video-focused platform Services, and to show you personalised advertising. Every purpose is detailed below.
A. Account Management and Core Service Provision
- Set up and run your official Nerivo user account.
- Give customer support and deal with every service query, for example sorting out video playback problems.
- Send update notices about the platform, set prices for premium packages that may come later, and settle all payment transactions.
B. Video Discovery and Social Interaction
We recommend trending videos from other creators that match your content preferences, and let other users view your uploads, subject to your privacy settings. We also provide search functions for finding videos on specific topics, plus interactive tools for content sharing and public commenting.
C. Development of New Features
Your profile, uploads and content preferences may appear on fresh Nerivo features or companion apps that match our core video-sharing mission. Unified account management also works across every new platform offering.
D. Advertising and Marketing
We measure how our advertising campaigns perform and run platform promotions, for example telling users about new video editing features. We also send marketing communications about products or services we think may interest you, based on your video browsing habits and use of Nerivo.
E. Ongoing Service Improvement
We send out user feedback surveys, study how community members engage with video content, and build new features like sharper video recommendation algorithms. Customer support records are also reviewed to lift overall service quality, with extra attention on shortening video upload failure resolution times.
F. Platform Security and Legal Compliance
We detect fraudulent behaviour such as fake accounts uploading stolen copyrighted video content, enforce our Terms of Service, and cooperate with law enforcement when formal legal requests require it. We also retain data related to platform rule violations to stop repeated misconduct across our user community.
Legal Basis for Data Processing
Our platform relies on four separate legal grounds when processing your personal data:
- Contract Performance: Looking after your registered account and delivering all core platform Services — every purpose under sections A through C above.
- Legitimate Interests: Running targeted advertising, sharpening platform functionality and keeping the community secure — every purpose under sections D through F above.
- Legal Obligation: Meeting binding legal demands from regulators, such as replying to court orders and official information requests.
- User Consent: Processing sensitive personal data, for example video preference tags you mark as fully private, or enabling specific restricted data collection features such as precise location tracking. You may withdraw your consent at any time through in-app settings or by contacting our support team directly.
When We Disclose Your Personal Information
Disclosure to Other Platform Users
Your public profile and all content you set to public visibility (videos marked “Public” and public comments included) are visible to other Nerivo users, controlled entirely by your privacy settings. If another user reports content you published for policy violations, we may send that user updates about how we handled the report.
Disclosure to Service Providers and Business Partners
Vendors who keep the platform running day to day — cloud video hosting firms and payment processors, say — may be handed limited slices of your personal data. Advertising partners only ever get encrypted, unreadable hash-formatted data, so your privacy stays fully protected. Every vendor we hire must stick to strict non-disclosure agreements covering all user information they touch.
Built-In Sharing Features
A built-in sharing function lets you forward video clips or your profile page to external platforms outside the Nerivo ecosystem; passing along trending videos through WhatsApp is a typical use.
Legal Proceedings and Corporate Transactions
During formal legal proceedings, such as replying to court subpoenas, or in a corporate merger, acquisition or bankruptcy restructuring, we may share your personal data when the law requires it or the transaction makes it unavoidable.
Disclosure With Your Explicit Approval
Before personal data is shared with outside parties for reasons unrelated to running the platform, we first get your clear, affirmative consent. Teaming up with brand partners to promote their exclusive branded video series is an example.
Aggregated Anonymized Data
Aggregated, anonymised or hash-encrypted data — device hardware metadata and broad demographic figures such as “users who watch music-related video content” — may go to external partners to back targeted advertising and user behaviour analytics.
Cross-Border Data Transfers
Your personal information may be transferred to the United States or other countries that have different data protection laws. When transferring personal data from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we use standard contractual clauses approved by data protection authorities or other legally recognised compliance mechanisms to ensure consistent protection for all transferred personal data.
Your Rights and Control Options
In-App Account Tools
- Access and Edit Your Data: Change your profile details, like refreshing your video content preference tags, or open account settings to update any personal information held in your account.
- Manage Device Permissions: Enable or revoke Nerivo’s access to your device contacts, location sensor and camera through your mobile device’s system settings. Note that disabling certain permissions will disable the corresponding platform features. For example, camera or photo gallery access must be enabled to upload video content to the platform.
- App Uninstallation: Deleting the Nerivo mobile app from your device does not by itself remove your registered account. Everything stored stays on our secure servers.
- Permanent Account Deletion: You may submit an account deletion request through the platform’s built-in settings. After account deactivation, your public profile and all uploaded videos stop being visible to other users, but we keep your personal records strictly in line with our data retention policy.
Legal Rights Based on Your Location
Depending on where you live, these legal rights may be open to you:
- Right of Access and Data Portability: Ask for a full copy of the personal data held in your account, delivered in a machine-readable standard format such as a CSV file containing your complete video upload history.
- Right to Erasure: Ask for your personal data to be deleted permanently, apart from narrow legal exceptions that demand retention for compliance.
- Right to Rectification: Fix inaccurate profile details, such as updating your custom video content preference categories.
- Right to Object and Restrict Processing: Raise objections to particular processing activities or put limits on certain data uses — refusing behavioural targeted advertising is one case.
We may ask for identity verification documents before fulfilling any data rights request to prevent fraudulent submissions. Requests that violate applicable local laws, are technically unfeasible to fulfil, or would infringe the legitimate rights of other platform users may be rejected. Residents of Virginia have the right to appeal any rejected data rights request. Users in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom may file complaints about our data handling practices with their local data protection authority.
Data Retention Periods
The platform keeps your personal data only as long as business purposes or legal compliance demands:
- Safety Retention Period: Three calendar months after your account is officially closed, or one full year after your account is permanently banned. This window lets our team fully investigate potential harmful incidents connected to videos you previously uploaded, such as prohibited harmful content.
- Retention After the Safety Period:
- Mandatory Compliance Retention: Financial transaction records are kept for ten years; credit card details stay until every connected dispute period wraps up; platform activity logs are kept for one calendar year; and consent records are stored for five full years.
- Legitimate Business Needs: Support correspondence is kept for five years; core metadata proving your account existed is stored for three years after closure; profile information stays for one year to support possible future legal action; and data about permanently banned accounts is held without limit to protect the community.
- Ongoing Legal Proceedings: All personal data tied to live legal claims or regulatory inquiries is stored safely until the relevant dispute is completely settled.
Privacy for Minors
Nerivo’s full platform Services are meant only for users aged eighteen or older. We do not actively collect personally identifiable information from minors. If you come across an account run by someone under eighteen, please file a violation report with the in-app reporting feature.
Minor Safety Policy
The app is not aimed at children below eighteen, and we would never knowingly collect personally identifiable data from a minor.
A strict zero-tolerance policy applies to every form of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, sexualised video content showing minors included. Users can report offending content through the in-app reporting tool. Every report concerning child sexual exploitation material is reviewed by our moderation team as a priority, followed by proper action including full content removal and temporary or permanent account restrictions.
If we learn that a minor’s personal data was collected without valid parental consent, we immediately remove all such records from our secure servers.
Where the law asks for it, we work hand in hand with the relevant authorities during formal investigations involving child sexual abuse material.
Anything you want to ask about minor safety standards or the safeguards around minors’ privacy can go to our dedicated support team at: [email protected]

Permanent Account Deletion Steps
Here is how to permanently delete your registered Nerivo account:
- Head to App Settings > Account Settings and choose the “Delete Account” option.
- Then follow the on-screen prompts to kick off the deactivation and deletion process.
The account is deactivated the moment you submit the deletion request. We keep all your stored personal data (uploads and profile info included) for a seven-day recovery period, in case you want the account back. Logging in again within those seven days cancels the deletion. After the seven-day recovery period ends, all your personal data is erased for good, with no way to restore it.
Thank you for making Nerivo your video-sharing platform. We stay firmly committed to protecting your personal privacy and to keeping a secure, fully transparent space where users can freely discover, stream and share trending user-generated video content.
